J. Martin & Associates, Founded in the year 1995 this firm was promoted by Mr. J Martin Joseph Selvaraj, the current CEO of the company, with only one employee. The company since then has grown till date to be a firm with 5 Partners and 15 employees, with two branches in a span of about 13 years. As a professional firm prohibited from advertising the firm has grown only by reference of satisfied clients. We are a Firm of Professionals in the business of Consultancy and Auditing, such as Income Tax Consultancy and Statutory Audit, with CA Institute registration number 7078S. We have a qualification called CISA (Certified Information System Auditor) from Institute of Systems Audit and Control Association, Illinois, USA, which qualifies our firm to audit Information systems & security and certify the same. We are also an esteemed member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

We are updated with the latest developments and use the latest software for providing the best services to our clients. We maintain proper records of our clients and regularly remind them of their statutory obligations and follow them up till they comply with statutory compliance. Client follow up is our main strength. We maintain good relations with various Government authorities and follow up matters with them till our clients jobs are done. In the matter of auditing and certification we maintain highest standard of integrity and employee latest techniques in auditing. As majority of our staff are auditing apprentices, we create interest in the subject for them so that, they do their job with pleasure and by this method we extract the best quality of work from them.

Firm Experience
We are a firm of Chartered Accountants involved in various fields of profession like Income Tax, Sales Tax, Service Tax, Central Excise, Company Audits, Internal Audits, Costing, Formation of Charitable Trusts, Incorporation of companies, Preparation of Project Reports, etc.,

Company Audits
Statutory auditors for companies engaged in manufacturing as well and Non-manufacturing activities. The manufacturing industry consists of Computers, Electronics goods, Equipment spare parts, Chemicals, surgical gloves, Automotive component etc., and Service industry audits consists of Finance, Trading, Hospitality, Infrastructure etc., Our firm has been recently appointed as Auditors for Singapore and Malaysian companies operating in India.

C&AG Audit
The firm has been appointed as Statutory Auditor for Palavan Transport Consultancy Services Limited, a public sector company for the years 2006, 2007 and 2008.

Internal Audit
We have done the internal audit of Madras Medical Mission, Mogappair (Chennai). This is a hospital specializing in Cardio Vascular Surgery. They are also engaged in conducting Paramedical courses and they run a medical college cum hospital at Pondicherry (Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences).

Systems Audit
Systems audit is done by us for public sector banks like Indian Overseas Bank and Indian Bank. The assignment is part of the concurrent audit carried out by us in the above banks. The scope of work include submission of EDP audit report along with the internal audit report covering Security environment of systems, Systems to control access, Backup procedures, Logging procedures Etc. on a monthly basis. Besides the system audit done for banks, we are engaged by our client to undertake system audit and implementation, which include development of financial module, accounting software networking, etc.,

Bank Audit
Statutory branch auditors of the following Public Sector Banks from the year of inception till date. 1. UCO Bank 2. Vijaya Bank 3. Bank of India

Bank ATM Audit
The firm has audited more than 500 ATMâ€™s of ICICI Bank situated within Chennai.

Bank Concurrent Audit
Indian Overseas Bank- July 2002 to June 2004 and July 2006 onwards. Indian Bank- December 2005 onwards.

Stock Audit
100% Export Oriented Patchwork Fabric Unit at Egmore, Chennai involving a total stock of Rs. 1.50crores. 100% Export Oriented Fruit Pulp Manufacturing Unit at Cenatoph Road, Chennai involving a total stock of Rs.20 lakhs.

Preparation of Project Report The firm has handled many successful projects, which includes advice in the selection of project along with advice on the proposed constitution of entity, its tax implications, advice about the incentives available from the Government on the Products to be manufactured and incentive available in the location in which the project is proposed to be set up, preparation of Feasibility Report to judge the viability of the project, preparation of Project Report for presentation before Banks/Financial Institutions for obtaining the finances, Liaison with Banks/Financial Institutions for Finances for Term Loan, Bridge Loans and Working Capital Loans.

Income Tax
We are handling Income Tax for High Net worth Individuals, Partnership Firms and Companies and also are a consultancy on Double Taxation Agreements.

Sales Tax, Service Tax & Central Excise
The firm provides consultancy services to many clients in the areas of Indirect taxation which includes Excise and Service tax registration, preparation of periodical reports for submission to government, VAT registration and monthly filing of returns, advise on VAT related issues etc.,

NGO Audit and Trust Registration
The firm is actively involved in the formation and audit of various Non Governmental Organizations which include registration, advice on Income tax and other issues, audit and consultation. The firm has audited many reputed NGOâ€™s including units of World Vision of India.
